Pop Up at Diamond Cove, Great Diamond Island off the Coast of Portland, ME
Kelley Stelling is excited to announce our first pop up art show on an island! We are exhibiting three artists for a pop up weekend show, opening Saturday, August 17th from 5:00-7:00pm. This show is taking place at the art gallery on Diamond Cove, Great Diamond Island off the coast of Portland, Maine. Diamond Cove has a long history of art including its use as an artist’s colony during the 19th century. This show includes Mark Johnson, Stacy Howe, and Jarid DelDeo, all Maine-based artists.
Mark Johnson has spent summers on Pumpkin Knob, a private island north of Peaks as long as he can remember. His paintings explore the vastness experienced in Casco Bay, his work blurs the lines between landscape and abstract.
Stacy Howe based in Portland playfully juxtaposes ocean creatures with everyday objects, she uses collage as a medium to explore our visual literacy. Her expert use of graphic, photo transfers, and ink gently invite the viewer in to the worlds she creates.
Jarid DelDeo based in Biddeford explores the unique vernacular of Maine, his coastal scenes, logging trucks, and patched-up back yards evoke a sense of place like no other.
This show is only accessible by boat, for a ferry schedule visit https://www.cascobaylines.com/schedules/diamond-cove-schedule/summe/.
